LINK Community Transport wishes to announce that Committee of Management (COM) Chairperson, Slawka Bell has resigned from the COM, effective at the Board Meeting on 27th June, 2016 and her final day being the 30th June 2016. Link Community Transport is Victoria’s largest independent NFP provider of community mobility, with 24 years as a trusted provider of service and advocacy. LINK has now completed its Board renewal and Strategic Plan along with the instigation of high level discussions on Sectoral Local Transport issues.
Slawka has been a member of the Board for two years and Deputy Chair and Chair for most of that time. Slawka stated: “Coming towards the end of my two very busy years, I was conscious of delivering an effective transition to a new Chair and I felt that the best time to do that was in the final months of the financial year 2015/2016 financial year”.
“I am very comfortable that the capacity of current and new Board members is exceptional and the 12 month transition of our new CEO into the organisation is now in its final stage”.
Slawka’s leadership has been highlighted by a forward thinking agenda with strategy, marketing, financial governance and risk management as her focus. “I am looking forward to seeing the organisation grow, thrive and diversify. I know I have a deeper understanding of the community for having spent the past two years as part of LINK and will miss the colleagues I have made during that time. I would particularly like to thank the Board members for their support and drive to ensure LINK remains a highly respected and quality provider of services for our clients and communities and contributes to the State development of Local Transport”.
Slawka has been a great supporter of advocacy on behalf of transport disadvantaged and fostering leadership to the transport sector in Victoria as well as her community engagement.
We wish Slawka the best for the future and acknowledge her valuable contribution as Board Chair at LINK.
