LINK’s Sky High Adventure – Senior Social Outings Program

The day started with a bit of rain, but it wasn’t enough to dampen the spirits of our amazing guests!

Everyone was cheery and excited to be venturing out to the Dandenongs and the Sky-High Observatory!

On board the coach we listened to all the greatest hits, from Elvis to Buddy Holly, and had a lot of laughs along the way. Snacks were passed around the coach, new friends were made, and it was such a fun atmosphere.

The moment the coach started the climb to Sky High, you could feel the energy change. The serenity of the ranges was so palpable! The higher the altitude the more tranquillity could be felt in the air.

Yes, the weather wasn’t optimal, but the fog gave the mountain an even more mystical look.

Our experienced driver, who does at least one weekly trip to the Sky-High Observatory, expertly navigated the bends and was full of stories and trivia from his adventures of being a coach driver for over 30 years.

Once we reached the Observatory, we were greeted by Janet, our friendly host who welcomed us to the restaurant.

After a relaxing cuppa, a two-course meal was served and it looked as delicious as it tasted! The fog lifted just in time for us to have a sneak peak of the beautiful vista before venturing out to walk the grounds and visit the gift shop.

Next, we went treasure hunting at Hunted in Kilsyth, the biggest antique and collectables store I have seen in my life!

The friendly staff were there to guide us through the maze of treasures and it was such a vintage adventure.

Below is a collection of images from the day! We are already planning the next big outing so if you have any suggestions and would like to join us on our next bit adventure be sure to call 1300 54 65 28.
