LINK Community Transport is a not for profit organisation providing transport to many people who are aged and have disabilities. LINK provides Community Transport services in the Northern and Western Metropolitan Melbourne regions and seeks to expands its services. We are seeking flexible and enthusiastic paid drivers on a permanent part time basis to complement our largely volunteer driving team in providing transport services in the City of Maribyrnong. Some shifts may also include ad hoc vehicle upkeep and administrative tasks. LINK is seeking 2 drivers, each doing 5 days a fortnight. The shifts available will be regular within our current operating hours of Monday and Friday, 7am to 7pm but there is possibility of future shifts outside these hours. All shifts will be based from a Maribyrnong depot in West Footscray. The vehicle will predominantly be a brand new HINO Poncho though different vehicle types may be used at other times.
We are looking for someone who has a current Light Rigid or higher driver’s licence, a Victorian Bus Driver Accreditation is preferred but not essential. You must have experience equivalent to two or more years full time in driving trucks or buses, transporting passengers, and navigating. You will have or be able to acquire wheelchair transport competence and First Aid qualifications. The successful candidates will be:
- Reliable and punctual,
- Committed to following policies and procedures and providing safe and quality services without direct supervision,
- Understanding of the needs of people who are elderly and frail aged,
- Respectful of diversity,
- Willing to adapt to ongoing change and growth at LINK.
