LINK Community Transport is a not for profit organisation providing transport to many aged and disabled customers and their carers including children. LINK provides Community Transport services in the Northern and Western Metropolitan Melbourne regions and plans to expand its services.  We are seeking flexible and enthusiastic paid drivers on a casual basis to complement our largely volunteer driving team in providing a range of transport services in these regions. Some shifts may also include ad hoc vehicle upkeep and administrative tasks. The shifts available will vary considerably and may include full day and part day shifts, late and early starts, shifts from differing depots, and different vehicle types. Our current operating hours are Monday to Friday 7am to 7pm but there is a possibility in future of shifts available outside these hours.

We are looking for someone who has a current Light Rigid or higher driver’s licence and can gain Victorian Bus Driver Accreditation. You must have experience equivalent to two or more years full time in driving trucks or buses, transporting passengers, and navigating, and you will have or acquire wheelchair transport competence. The successful candidates will be reliable and punctual, committed to following policies and procedures and providing safe and quality services without direct supervision, understanding of the needs of elderly and disabled people, respectful of diversity and willing to adapt to ongoing change and growth at LINK. Basic mathematical and mobile computer competencies will be needed. Some other selection criteria apply and these and other information about the role can be viewed in the position description below.

If this sounds like the role for you, please submit your resume and cover letter outlining why you feel you are suited to this role to recruitment@lct.org.au. Please note that the successful applicant will need to have satisfactory reports from a working with children check, criminal history check and 5-year driving history check.
