LINK Community Transport is a not for profit organisation providing transport and other assistance primarily to the aged, people with a disability and their carers. LINK serves the Northern and Western Metropolitan Melbourne region and hopes to grow. We are seeking a skilled, enthusiastic team player to join our team of Operations Officers.

The position duties include a range of activities contributing to the coordination of our services – the common duties are:

  • Take and process inbound/outbound calls, enquiries, customer welfare and service requests
  • Undertake customer intake and assessment processes
  • Receive and where possible resolve issues
  • First point of contact (Duty Officer) for drivers/travel assistants on duty
  • Manage records of driver availability and driver rosters
  • Arrange trip requests into driver shifts (scheduling)
  • Communicate shifts and other information to drivers/travel assistants
  • Participate in a roster to cover all operational hours and requirements
  • Schedule vehicle servicing, cleaning and repairs
  • A range of other recordkeeping tasks

You must be organised and able to multitask effectively while also providing high attention to detail. Intermediate computer skills are required, particularly in Microsoft Office and customer relations type software. You will have sound written and verbal communication skills and good customer service skills. Relevant experience in community services or logistics could be advantageous. We are looking for a team player who reliably exhibits constructive, collaborative, professional and positive behaviour in the course of interactions with clients, teammates and other personnel. As LINK’s office hours are 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday we require regular availability for some rostered 7am starts or 7pm finishes (e.g. same day each week).
