Governance
LINK Community Transport Inc. is a non-profit Incorporated Association [A0020757U] and a registered charitable organisation with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status with the Australian Taxation Office [ABN: 77 816 708 030].
We are governed by a Committee of Management (COM). The COM meets monthly and maintain regular email contact between meetings. Current COM Members are:-

Rob Purcell, Chairperson
Rob was born in Coburg, grew up in Essendon and lives in Brunswick West. Rob initially worked as a qualified electrician before joining the Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB) in 1989 as a Firefighter, working in various stations around Melbourne. Rob moved into management in early 2002 and has also completed roles as diverse as operational equipment maintenance, selection and purchasing, Chief Of Staff and Executive Manager of Operational Training. Holding the rank of Assistant Chief Fire Officer, Rob is currently Director Regional Community Resilience for North West Metro taking in the local government areas from Wyndham to Nillumbik and all in between. As well as an emergency response function, Rob is responsible for, amongst other things, the MFB’s community engagement, emergency management planning and risk mitigation strategies. Rob is married to Nicole with children Olivia (2002) and Aiden (2004) and enjoys family life, playing soccer, surfing and watching Essendon play in the AFL. Rob is a Fellow of the Leadership Victoria (Williamson) Leadership Program, a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and also likes to support the community work of others through contacts with the 20th Man organisation, Kids Under Cover and the White Ribbon Foundation.

Jeni Taplin, Deputy Chairperson
Jeni retired from her successful career in education which culminated in fifteen years in the position of school principal. This experience has left her with a broad set of skills and strengths in working with the community. Jeni is a Leadership Victoria Associate and former Director on the Board of Nillumbik Community Health Service. She now combines part-time consulting work in the education field with her activities in support of the not-for-profit sector. Jeni enjoys socialising with friends, reading, keeping up with technology, cooking, travel and especially getting together with her wonderful children and two amazing grandchildren.

Peter Alkemade, Treasurer / Public Officer / Secretary
Born in Bacchus Marsh, Peter grew up on a dairy farm and now lives in Strathmore with his wife Rose and two sons Robert and Paul. He worked for Telstra for 20 years specialising in technical sales, including major service tenders and contracts, risk management of new contracts, and in the development of special service contracts. Peter has also served as an Army Reserve Officer for 30 years, finishing as the Commander of the Reserve in Victoria. He is involved in a number of community and volunteer organisations including Scouts, Treasurer for the Strathmore Secondary College, President of the Defence Reserves Association – Victorian Branch, and a Board member of Encompass.

Vincenzo S Pirrottina, General Member
Vince is an advocate on disability issues and a member of various committees in the Melbourne's northern suburbs. Vince was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy in childhood and lives in the community with his wife. Vince has the assistance of attendant carers each day and a regular attendant carer attends LINK’s Committee of Management meetings with him. Vince has been a member of various disability advisory committees and has spoken at many conferences over the years. Vince is frequently asked to write for publications about his experience of disability. Vince was a past member of DASSI’s Management Committee and is a DASSI Life Member. Vince has been a member of the Australian Ventilator Users Network Steering Committee. Vince is a member of the City of Darebin Disability Advisory Committee, a past member of Darebin’s Festival Committee and was awarded joint Darebin Citizen of the Year in 2005. Vince was bestowed Life Membership of LINK in 2009/10.

David Fryar, General Member
David has 20 years experience within the insurance industry. He currently works for a personal injury and disability mutual organisation as the General Manager Product and Market Development. David is committed to assisting LINK with its strategy formulation during a period of significant change for the community transport sector. David is married to Anthea and has two children Oliver and Amalie. Outside of work David has spent time travelling through Africa and South America and enjoys spending time at the beach with his family and following Hawthorn in the AFL.

Bernie Seth, General Member MAICD, ACIS, ACSA
Bernie Seth has been a Director and Company Secretary since 1999. Bernie is a member of Australian Institute of Company Directors and Chartered Secretaries Australia. Bernie is currently a non-executive Director with Homebush Financial Services Ltd (Bendigo Bank's Community Bank at Homebush, NSW), and Sydney Training and Employment Limited. He is also an Advisor to the Board of Cockatoo Institute Limited and Executive Chairman of B. Seth & Associates Pty Ltd. Bernie has held senior management positions in print media, manufacturing, distribution, logistics, consulting and engineering. Bernie's prior executive roles include General Manager with PMP Limited, Security Mail, Repco Limited and Utilux Pty Ltd; and CEO of Brinks Australia. Bernie has a Bachelors and Masters in Electrical Engineering, an MBA, and a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment & Training.
